Decoupage Glass Colossal Octopus Tray

This 5 x 8 inch tray features a pen and wash drawing by malacologist Pierre Dénys de Montfort, 1801, from the descriptions of French sailors reportedly attacked by such a creature off the coast of Angola. In the potichomania process, the glass acts as both a foundation and protective finish, saving the step of varnishing.
