Ever wonder what is keeping all those brilliant thoughts safely inside your head? Enter the human skull, your very own cranial armor. Made of 22 interlocking bones, it is is a complex bony structure. 

It serves to protect the brain, support the facial structures, and provide housing for the sensory organs. The upper portion, or cranium, encloses the cranial cavity, offering a secure space for the brain along with passages for nerves and blood vessels.

The lower portion, or mandible, functions as a hinged structure essential for mastication and communication. This specimen provides a detailed view of cranial anatomy and demonstrates the intricate design that balances protection, function, and structural integrity.

In short, it is perfectly legal to possess and sell human bones in the United States. There are a few exceptions to this: a few states have banned import and export, and of course, any archaeological resources protected by the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.
