Icelandic Sheepskin
Approximately 36–44 inches long and 24–30 inches wide
If you're looking for a certain color or pattern, let us know in the comments at checkout. We'll do our best to match what you're looking for.
These sheepskins are unreal. Not only are they beautiful, but good lord, we didn’t think anything could feel this good. Seriously. Once you get your hands on one, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about.
These come from the Icelandic sheep, Ovis aries, and are somewhat of an oddball in the sheep world. Some might even dare to say they’re the black sheep of the family. Okay, we’re done.
Anyway, these sheep are an ancient, hardy breed brought to Iceland by Norse settlers over 1,000 years ago. What makes them so unique is Iceland’s geographic isolation. The breed has remained genetically the same as when the first Vikings decided to bring them along for the boat ride.
With these hides, you’re getting your hands on a lush coat of wool that is almost exactly the same as when the Vikings still prowled the oceans. It’s a time capsule and a statement piece all wrapped up into one.
